POSTER NO: 462 A interrelate study between human semen quality, infection of ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and content of interleukin-6(IL-6) in serum and seminal plasma
1Yong Wang, 1Xiaodong Han, 1Yayi Hou, 1Sunan Shen, 1Genhong Yao, 2Jianxiu Chen The purpose is to further study the association between human semen quality, infection of ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and content of interleukin-6(IL-6) in serum and seminal plasma. Routine semen tests and cultivation of Uu are carried out to samples of semen fluid. IL-6 concentrations were measured in the supernatants by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL- 6 concentrations of seminal plasma were no different between the group infected with Uu and the group not infected with Uu, while IL-6 concentrations of serum of group infected with Uu was significantly (p<0.05) higher than that of group not infected with Uu. IL-6 concentrations of seminal plasma or serum were no different between the group with normal semen quality and the group with abnormal semen quality. Infection of Uu increases IL-6 level of serum, and does not increase IL-6 level of seminal plasma. The level of IL-6 receptor affected the action of IL-6 in the seminiferous tubule or seminal plasma, and there is no direct relation between human semen quality and concentrations of IL-6 in serum or seminal plasma. |
