To clone novel gene relative to blood glucose regulation, Differential display was applied to animal model instead of cell line. One group of rats were injected with glucose, and the control rats were injected with 0.9%NaCl. After EST(expression sequence tag) was proved to be positive fragment by slot blot and Northern blot analysis, cDNA library of rat was screened. We get the full-length cDNA, named as Fang-2. Using blast software (NCBI), we found Fang-2 is rat homologue of human and mouse troponin T. They share high similarity, which shows the protein is very conserved. After high concentration of glucose stimulation of rat, compared to control, the expression of fang-2 was down-regulated. Fang-2, the rat homologue of human troponin T, having the new role, is involved into glucose regulation.
